The short version: Our apps run on your computer. We don't collect your data. We don't send anything to the cloud. We don't track what you do. That's it.

What our apps do

GuideSignal Labs makes desktop apps for Windows — including ClipGenius, FileMindr, WriteFast, FlowBot, and DocLens. Every app runs entirely on your computer. Nothing is sent to external servers.

What we collect

Nothing. Specifically:

All your data stays on your device
We don't send anything to any server
We don't track how you use the app
We don't collect personal information
AI features run locally on your computer — no cloud AI
No accounts or sign-ups required

How ClipGenius handles your clipboard

ClipGenius saves what you copy so you can find it later. When you first open the app, it asks for your permission before it starts saving anything. You have to click "Allow" before any monitoring begins. You can turn this off at any time in Settings, and optionally delete everything that was saved.

Where your data is stored

App data is stored in a folder on your computer:

%APPDATA%/com.guidesignallabs.[appname]/

This data is not encrypted by default. Anyone who can log into your Windows account could access it. If you handle sensitive information, we recommend turning on Windows device encryption (BitLocker) for added protection.

One-time AI download

Some of our apps download a small AI model (about 80MB) the first time you use them. This happens once. After that, the AI runs completely offline on your computer. No data is sent during or after the download — only the AI model itself is retrieved.

Starting with Windows

Some apps can optionally start when Windows starts. This is turned off by default — you have to turn it on yourself in Settings if you want it.

How pasting works

When you select an item in ClipGenius and press Enter, the app simulates pressing Ctrl+V to paste it into whatever application you were using. This only happens when you explicitly choose to paste something.

License keys

If you buy the Pro version and enter a license key, it's checked right on your computer using built-in verification. No internet connection is needed. We never phone home to check your license.

Third-party services

Our apps don't use any third-party services that collect data. The only external connection is the one-time AI model download described above.

Deleting your data

You can remove everything at any time:

Uninstall the app through Windows Settings, or
Delete the data folder at %APPDATA%/com.guidesignallabs.[appname]/

Children

Our apps are general-purpose tools not directed at children under 13. Since we don't collect any data from anyone, this includes children.
